Finally pulled the trigger on a couple custom pucks for my Vega. I added UV and violet to the two center pucks. The other thing I did was to swap the locations of the red and green between the two pucks. So now each side of the fixture will have a red and a green. Hope this helps the disco effect.

I did as well. Swapped out a red and green for UV and Violet, also swapped out the center for a neutral white. I figured I only run the whites at <75% why not omit one CW and add a different color. I run 3 vegas

I have (2) Vega Color units and have disliked the Red & Green from the beginning. I am running them at only 1% because any higher I get disco or green/red spot light effect on my coral and rocks. I am also going to replace Red and Green with UV and V. As far as intensities go I have tried everything from 100% to 20-30%. For me it depends on what types of corals you have. My SPS grows great at 80-100% but it fries my softies like Welsos and Acans. Even at the bottom of the tank. I am running White @18%, Blues @ 60%, and Red/Green @ 1%. Took a month but I have full color on everything now. Acros still growing and full polyp extension and softies have all colored back up. Someone let us know how you like the Director?

I would say 3. I have a standard 90 gallon with 2 and I feel like I could use 3. I have shadows out on the edges that would be gone if I had a 3rd.

I would say 3 to be safe. They cover 24x24 so with 2 you would be shy.

I have a 90 gallon as well and run two Vega color units. Down the road, I would like to purchase one more Vega color, just to keep everything uniform.
The Kessil A-150 ocean blue, which I'm using as supplement lighting for the center of my tank, is keeping up with my Vega units. Great little light, that packs a bunch, but no controllability, which I need / prefer. Just purchased my first Mp40 for the tank, so one more Vega color will be ordered soon. I wish I had a money tree growing in the backyard. Happy Reefing, Randy |

I'm another 60" tank guy and am wondering about utilizing 3 units. My concern is that everything being symmetrical that my center unit would be mounted directly above my center cross-brace mitigating the benefit of the 3rd unit.
Any input on this?

Can someone help? I have a 150 Gallon XH 48x24x30, and am interested in keeping SPS corals. I have 2 VEGA modules and one 48" Exoctic Panorama Marine and one 48" Actinic Blue that the guy at the LFS talked my wife into............Does anyone know if the light penetration will be enough toward the bottom of the tank will be strong enough for the SPS? Or if I have enough light to even keep SPS?
I was thinking of getting another VEGA module for coverage, but am not sure if I need that much light. Please help! |

Director not available in UK yet . Thought you could use 20 levels on standard controller.

Why so much hate on the "disco effect"? Nothing like putting the Vega full tilt and breaking out my old copy of Saturday Night Fever

Sadly I have had my director we about 2 weeks and haven't installed it yet. There were no instructions in the box with it and I have been super busy to mess around with it
