pulp, yeah its a tiger tail, i didnt see him come out for months but over the last 2 months he is out early in the evening and in the morning before the lights come on. he does do a great job cleaning the sand.
i just picked up a black serpent starfish last weekend and i noticed the area around its cave is nice and clean also i picked up the diamond goby yesterday so in a month i will be able to add him into the cleanupcrew, he took care of all the diatoms in the 30 gallon in about 15 min

I also agree that he does a stand up job on the graveyeard shift cleaning a tone of sand!
I wish I could add some cleaner stars to my 60gal reef because its a crabless CUC. I'm sure that my harlequin shrimp would probbly get him sooner or later though. The 2 yellow watchmen gobies I have also help out along with their tiger pistol shrimp. Too bad after cleaning the sand the shrimp often hides it where it shouldn't go like in my doughnut coral.

my fuge has a good amount of those small white serpent stars but as soon as i find another black serpent star it will be going into the fuge, to much junk collects in the rubble.

wow, i had no idea that the diamond goby would move that much sand, it has been making a mount of sand over the rock it lives over. i am having second thoughts about putting him in the DT tank now.

decent camera is not working atm so point and shoot camera will have to do. most of these have flash so it doesnt show the corals true colors for the most part.
sps area of the tank. encrusting monti(orange), bottlebrush, purple cap, green fuzzy acro, acro verde, and in the top left you can see my pearl berry. bretts green cap, no purple rim yet. and pearlberry purple cap and acro verde duncan

Looking good... you're starting to get yourself a nice little ORA collection. I just had to butcher my ORA Verde because it also began to develop STN at the base. Shame because the growth had really been kicking in lately.

the growth on the verde has been great, it has not been growing out but "bulking up" it branches its just about fully encrusted on the plug now so i am waiting for it to start growing out soon. pearl berry is also growing very quickly.

these two guys(guy and gal?) have been hanging out in the left front glass corner since i got them. it looks like the pep shrimp(all 6) have been taking care of my aiptasia since i can only find 2 or 3 large ones(i missed) the other day with joes juice. going to give them a couple more days so they are large enough to kill(bigger ones are always easier).
pic of the peps

got a couple of things today
first is a tri color acro a little guy but fully encrusted, had great PE after 15 min next is a ora birds next that had live tissue in at the bottom was either dead or dormant in the middle then was growing well at the top. so i cut off around 1/4 of an inch of dead area between the two and got left with this all live tissue under the cut and the top portion i put on a piece of rubble quick update on my BoP doing well and it looks like its starting to grow, i call it the shag monster can you see the tiger tail in the last pic? all new additions were dipped in a iodine reef dip and ReVive

got a nice sized (around 15" long, 1.5" thick or so) tonga branch this afternoon. will post pics when i figure out what i did with it, i want to connect my 2 islands and put sps frags on it but we will see how it works out.
other things done today: changed some of my filters on the ro/di changed the carbon on the DT tank(around a cups worth) moved some of my corals around since my favite decided to send tentacles out and touch my encrusting monti. poor monti is hurt atm

I saw a guy's tank one time where he grew Zoanthids like a carpet across a piece of branch... it was pretty cool.
I got a closeup of my BoP tonight... blah.

Nice corals you posted in your pics. Two weeks ago I was given a small 3 headed fragplug of candy cane and tried simply sticking it's base in a crack in my rocks, but something kept knocking it off into the sandbed. I figured then I would simply stick it into the sandbed like your pics show until I decide eactly where I want it to end up. What ever kept knocking it out of the rocks then kept uprooting it out of the sandbed. I finally gave up and built a magnetic frag rack and it hasn't been bothered since. Do you have any coral movers in your tank or are they staying where you put them?

if the frag is closer then 2 1/2" to the glass my turbos will knock it down, like wise it cant be that close to a rock either. i have a good amount of nass and tongan nass snails in the tank, so i have seen them come up and slightly uproot it.
my powder brown has his "lanes" that he likes to run and if the frags are tall enough he will knock them over. after awhile i picked the current spot they are all in only my largest turbo can knock them over so its not often i have to put them right side up. i took out my biggest offender of coral moving months ago, my GSM. he would pick up my new frags for the first couple of days and drop them in random places, letting me know it was his tank. after he killed my long tentacle plate he was banished to the sump untill i found someone to take him.

rofl murphy in action after i made the last post;
i wake up late last night and get something to drink, i turned on the living room light slighty and see my tiger tail knocked over all the frags i had in the sand and is laying on them..... i will be working on a little eggcrate frag area for the tank this week. altho i did see this on the foster and smith website...http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...6&pcatid=18976 doesnt look like it will fit an ORA plug tho, i could take a drill and make the holes larger. anyone have one of these? my skimmer has not been working great over the last few days. my acro verde had a "burned" tip so i did a water change and cleaned out the mag 3 and cleaned the injector part on the remora, working great now and pulled around 1/4 of a cup of nasty last night.

dont think i have mentioned it but i have done the switch to reefcrystals, took advantage of the sale Dr. foster and smith was having. doing small water changes since it new salt water, there is a difference in my alk and reefcrystals so i have been slowly raising the alk in the DT to match them.
i am taking advantage of the small water changes and siphoning the fuge out, i have alot of rubble and silt from the GSM moving the sand around over the last year. no real pics lately since nothing has been going on

That frag plug holder looks really interesting and gives me an idea. I think I would just take a suitably shaped and sized piece of live rock and drill some holes in it with a concrete drill bit and have one that blends in nicely with my DT to sit on the sandbed. You can usually buy inexpensive concrete bits in large sizes for a couple of bucks.
