If im not mistaken that comparision of 270watt halide vs 75 watt LED is for par perspective and not a Lux rating (illumination), yes, pun intended. My unit at 100% is incredibly bright but I have never seen lux readings on the units. I would personally venture to guess based on rookie "eyeball" science that its nearly as bright as a 400watt 20k but not 10k.

125, why is the intensity kept so low? after a month i had ramped mine full up. they are at 98-100% from about 11-3:30, less before and afterwards, of course, 13 " above the water. my par a couple inches below the lights in the air is nearly 1500 and at the sand in my 75 tank, it's about 175. i don't see the need to keep your ai's so low for this long.

Just playing it safe! I hear too many stories of bleached coral.

That's very bright! Since brightness is a very subjective standard can anybody else add their opinions please, of what the lights look like to you from a switch from MH, thanks.

They may seem expensive but what good is it to cheap out on an LED light system if it cooks or starves every thing under it.
So do you need to buy an AI contoller for each Sol module? Or an you control the AI modules with other controllers?

You link all AI modules together and control it with a single controller.

I finally hung my AI sol blue on my 2ft cube last night. I couldnt find a hanging kit ANYWHERE so I made one after my trip to HD. Not as nice but for 10 bucks it will do.

Im loving the color and spread of the light so far. I have some tweaking to do with the setting but overall now its a waiting game with my corals. Hopefully it will prove to be a great success. Im going to take pictures of the sps frags I recently purchased and see the progression over the next few months. Thanks everyone for the advice so far and for the advice to come.

Anyone try the AI flare tubes, I would like to add them to my 4 bulb ATI T5 fixture. If anyone has, Let me know what color you got, comes in white, blue and super blue. Need some more par, its over a 90 gal. Cant afford the whole AI fixture. But sounds like a good brand. THANKS

So far the tank looks dim because of the decreased intensity.Since Sunday ive run Day time 52w 55b 58rb from 130 to 4 then 46w 50b 52rb from 4 to 730. I think Im going to bump my configuration +10. Im coming from a 250w MH overdriven on a HQI ballast getting about 350 par for many of my top corals and 200 for my middle-lower corals.

From C2 the makers of the AI modules. You have to submit a trouble ticket on their website to get the process started. Btw this type of question has been asked and answered several times in this thread.

Did you buy your PAR meter directly from the Apogee website? I was hoping for a less expensive alternative. I am getting ready to switch from T5 to AI LEDs.
