Another unrelated thing I noticed tonight. I bought a green/orange chalice from a reefer who had them under AI Sols. Within a week, it has colored up to a nice green/red under the IT light.

Just got my IT 2060. Haven't suspended it yet, just messed around a bit with settings and menus. Man it burns my laps when at full force! A powerful and wonderful fixture. I love it already. I can already tell my 4 x T5's are a very far cry from it. Anyways, on a negative side, the owner's manual is something else. Minimum information and difficult to understand.

Oh and suspension cords are kind of short. Ceilings in China that low? Gotta think how to extend them.

Here is what I used to run 2x175 Watt 20k MH 4x65 Watt VHO Actinics
My first mount. Flat a little far apart. Left a small shadow in the center Blue Channel on 100% Right and White/Red/Green/UV Channel 100% Left 100% whites, no Blues How I left them at this point. First thoughts. Build quality great, Brightness great, Mounting is not bad. I had to buy a new timer to get all four channels on a schedule. Overall very happy. Cleaned up alot of stuff under my stand. My Tank averaged 85*. I also removed both Fans from my canopy. I will see where the temperature falls after a few days.

Anyone with an IT2040 have a power meter? I'm just curious how much electricity they use when running at about 10% and 50%. Hopefully it would be just about 10 or 50% of 120W

Do any of these lights have a real heatsink (spoecially the d120 and ITXXX that are becoming very popular)? or do they rely only on the fans for temperature management?

The D120s i just got in do not have Heatsinks either. After mine have been running for a few hours. They are still cool to the touch. They each have 3 Fans running at all times when on.

I may try a d120 over my 28 nano and a it2080 over the 75.The pics of a it2080 next to the radion was enough to convince me.

Check out twilight, I prefer them to the d120's because , they are a little cheaper, and have all the features the evergrows have. I feel the evergrows have been over hyped in this thread. They have had issues with the timer resetting everyday. Now you guys are saying they don't have heatsinks? Check out twilight group. I bought one with the built in timer, optics ect. It has one plug, three fans that are nearly silent, a heatsink. It works and looks great and an added bonus it was $190 shipped.

I got in the new 420nm violets to put in my NOVA A4 fixture. I replaced 4 405nm violets and 4 395 violets. All of the lenses turned black and they eventually burned out. The new violets have a different optic bubble on the LED itself. It is almost a silicone rather than the hard plastic as before. The PAR numbers actually went up as well with these 8 new LEDs. This is after the switch. Before the switch they were aprox. 100 PAR lower in all areas. This is with the light hung 10" over the tank and all on 100%

I have a dozen more sps arriving Tuesday 1/29/13. I am currently running a 36" ATI Power module 8x39watt. I am thinking about switching over to these units. what would be good for a 48" tank for color and growth, and LED layout. I am new to the LED and would like to get it right the first time. any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

I have heard nothing but bad things about the twlight units ...
The d120s never had heat sinks so that's nothing new The timer issue on the ITSERIES (totally different unit) was fixed along time ago ... the timers no longer do that and mine never have... and the IT UNITS have heat sinks ... both units are far from over hyped I've owned 3 now and couldn't be more impressed |

i'm looking for some suggestions from those that have experience with the chinese leds. i'm building a sumped 20 gallon long and i'm looking at going with LED instead of doing t5. the 2 popular fixtures here seem to be the d120 and the "IT" series from RB/EG. i came across the 4G pro model from eshine that has a full spectrum array. for $200 shipped, the size and price it seems like a good deal especially for a 3 ch. dimmable fixture. what is the general consensus on eshine systems? which of the RB/EG fixtures would be good for 30" long tank with the light about 8" above the water? any suggestions would be really appreciated. i would love to be able to read through the last thread as well as this one but my 4 month old little girl has other plans for me. thanks again.

The newest Evergrow lights have firmware 1.6 on the lcd, and no longer have timer issues. If you have anything lower than that, you can have it replaced by whoever you bought it from. |
