What is the least amount I would need for a 96" x 36" x 30H" ? I'm guessing I can get away with 3 but ideally 4? These things aren't cheap.

Also, what happens when an LED burns out? Do you replace the entire puck? If so, how much do replacement pucks cost?

I would say your estimate is correct. You can get away with 3 but 4 would be best. If a diode burns out, you would have to replace the cluster but I've yet to read about diodes failing on the LX7's or 6200's. If you were good with a solder iron, you may be able to replace a diode on your own but I haven't looked that close at mine to be certain.

Any idea how much the clusters are? These are things I'd like to know before diving in. I'm running AI Sol's and I've had to replace pucks quite a bit because LEDs, that are suppose to run for 1000's of hours, keep burning out.

How long have LX7's been out? I believe diodes on the Sol's started burning a year or so after release.

The LX7's have been out since earlier this year but the clusters are nearly the same as the LX6200's and they don't fail. I researched the heck out of the Mitras when I decided to go with LX7's and got an LX6200 prior. As I said, cluster failures aren't an issue with these lights unlike the AI's. That said, I have no idea what the cluster cost is but I am sure it's not expensive. They are small clusters compared to the AI's and Radions. You can contact GHL USA to find out but since all the LX7's are currently under warranty, they may not have pricing listed on the LX7 clusters. I am sure you can get pricing on the LX6 clusters though which will give you a good idea of cost. I'd bet they are much less than Radion cluster cost and less than the AI cluster cost.

Thanks for the info.

I noticed Premium Aquatics doesn't have any in stock. Any other vendors out there with some in stock or is everyone waiting for a US shipment to come in?

The replacement clusters are about $60 a piece. Not sure if the LX7 ones are available yet.

Good find. That's actually $60 for a pair! I'd expect the LX7 clusters to be similarly priced.

Not sure. Have you tried contacting Premium Aquatics or GHL USA to find out when they expect more or if they have more in route? GHL USA may have stock. If not, I think they get shipments every month or so in which case, if they are in fact out of stock, it could just be a matter of days before the next shipment arrives.

It's too bad you're so so far away from me. I'd like to see these in action before taking the plunge. Anyone closer to the I.E. have some Mitras I can check out?

I have the previous model 6200hd and it's been running 2 years without any problem except for some paint that chipped on the casing.

Where are you located? Maybe someone else is closer?

I suggest a 12 hour photo period with 4 hours at peak intensity. A nice gradual ramp up and ramp down to/from peak much like a typical summer sunlight cycle.

Wound up going with 3 LX7206. Ordered them a few weeks ago and they are set to arrive next week. Going in search of a good project, if anyone has one they would be willing to share.

New tank, so going to start with mostly LPS and then dip into the SPS when it is well established.

Thanks,
Mike

I tried transmitting my Light project and says Data transmission successful, but it does not transmit over? When I do test illumination run, the time that is suppose to be off is on, which mean it is still running my old schedule.

Nevermind, I remade the project and it worked. Might been some kind of error or glitch.

Can someone please advise what the bold thread pattern is for mounting the lights? I'm working on my mounting configuration so I wanted to be sure I have the right components.

M4 and the bolt holes are 17 cm apart.

I did an fully adjustable mounting system using 8020, with the 1020 profile.

Got my lights running today. How do I turn on the lunar lighting and program/turn on the clouds?

Thanks!

I ended up going with the 1010 profile. It's great how the power cables tuck right into the 80/20 channels.

I have a few questions please:
1. Why doesn't the clock stay in sync with my PC
2. Why don't my communications settings save? More specifically, when I try to connect via wireless I get a connection error. It seems to default back to USB connection therefore I have to manually select wireless and choose my assigned static IP.
3. Has anyone had issues with GCC crashing intermittently? I'm running the program from explorer on a surface pro. GCC has crashed on me at least 6 times today

I was wondering if either of you could link me to the dimensions of the aluminium extrusions, please? I can only seem to find 20 series an upwards.

8020.net
Look at their interactive online catalog. It'll tell you everything you want to know.

Mitras 6200 Menu is squirrelly

Hi - Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 6200 which I have programed using the fixtures on board menu only. When I touch the check mark or the X the menu begins to flash and scroll quickly thru all of the options. It eventually stops and displays the light / color output levels as it should. I tried unplugging it for a couple of minutes but that didn't seem to help. Does anyone know if there is a factory reset process or have any other ideas as to what is going on and how to remedy this? Thanks

If not at the latest firmware maybe worth updating first as opposed to doing a factory reset.
