That is huge. I can't wait till my toadstool get huge. Mine is only about the size of a golf ball right now. How long did it take for yours to get that big?

Looks like sinularia or nepthea. Not confident.

Lots of red undertones too. A Christmas tank!

The key is the base if its on a small base it will stay small took about a yr. Not on here very often my brother has one from the same mother coral and his is the size of a tennis ball he has it on a small base. Mine and his were the same size and when he comes over hes amazed but i still concluded that its the base that gives them the go ahead to get huge

Kinda like a tree. The bigger the base the more the branches grow. I'm hoping mine starts to grow more since I've started to feed reef roids to all my corals now.

It is a sinularia, grows like a weed, you can see all the places i've cut it.

I do have a nepthea, it can be seen behind the torch at 5 o'clock.

Funny thing is, at this distance they look the same.
Close up you can easily see they look totally different.

From 2 favorites from my old 75. Green Nepthea and Pink Sinularia. Both grew so darn fast I would frag 1 finger and they would be this big again in 18 months. Bill, who got me into reefing- had the mother sinularia in his 180 that was 36" across. Ahh those were the days. Not sure I even knew the importance of Alkalinity at this point.

I've been on here for 15 years and still can't post pics lol. I don't know why they make it so difficult as it's simple on other sites.

What would you guys say is the max size for soft corals?

It sounds like expecting a colony to grow larger than 36" (base depending) is reasonable.
