David, I think the Maxi-Jet 900 or 1200 is a popular choice to replace the stock pump.
I drilled into my stand for a light fixture, but just noticed both back corner rosed up a bit.. about 1/16 on one side and the other is slightly less. What can I do to correct this? I've been told get styrofoam and lay it over the stand and allows the tank to slowly settle into it? Will it work? I dont want 29g of saltwater on my floor =( |

David the most popular options seem to be the Maxijet 900 or 1200. I have read that the Rio 4HF and 6HF will fit. The Rio seems to have a higher flow rate and less power draw. I have not tested them so I do not know for sure they would fit, but reading on another forum I know the 4HF fits and i believe I saw some posts saying the 6HF fits as well.

Thanks Kataro and kwats. I'll probably go with the 1200. It's surprising that it's the same for the 14 and the 29.

The sand in my 14 BC was bought at Petco...it says it was sand from Ft Lauderdale Beach in FL. Designed for saltwater fish tanks. I got it b/c i am originally from FL and it is very white. it looks real good i think.

Lighting upgrade with Tax Return
So after thinking about all the bills I could pay off with my Tax Return and seeing that I will have some "left-overs" I am contemplating forking out a ridiculous amount of mulah for the NanoCustoms LED retrofit for the BC29. Scary I know, but according to TurboTax I have 2-4 weeks to decide what to really do with that money.
It seems like a worthwhile investment, mostly for the energy consumption, high light output and the low heat output (since being in Houston it tends to get a little warm). Plus I need to retain the Stock Hood to keep "little fingers" and toys from getting in the BC, which already happens with a hood on. Anyone out there make this leap of faith on the LED retrofit of which I am speaking? How do you feel now? Violated (i.e. buyer's remorse)? OR is it LIBERATING? I need to know so I can start fabricating a story for "the boss" to justify the disapearance of .5k+$ ![]()

I've heard from a few on MArSH that have done it, but haven't seen pics yet... makes me feel better there are other crazies out there about to "take the plunge" on a ridiculously expensive upgrade... gotta pump myself up for it. BongoShrimp let me know how the install goes and when you get pics up!

here's my set up at 2 days old (2 weeks or so ago). I changed some minor rocks around a bit... But will probably continue to do so as I progress, trying to go for the drop off look into the sandy bottom

Bodiddley, clams probably aren't the best idea for the BC under stock lighting. You could keep a derasa, but they get HUGE. Puggsli1, the lighting is average at best, only good for softies or LPS mostly. I have heard about that jkrentz, I thought it was a myth! Awesome look. Puggsli1, that's what you need!

Has anyone use the Biocube Media basket and fuge basket from mediabaskets.com in your Biocube 29? Would you please sharing your experience and opinion on these products? I am seriously thinking about getting one of this package http://shop.mediabaskets.com/BioCube...C29-Bundle.htm , for my Biocube 29. Also, 5 watt underwater light.

the correct answer would be "WHO, is the jkrentz" He posted a link to the new HQI Biocube for sale, pretty sweet.
