Looking real good Johnny! Amazing corals! I really need to get some from vivids soon! I just need to get an ATO going. It's the only thing stopping me from getting more corals. I lose like 3-4 gallons a day to evaporation.

Thanks bud, yea they are dope. Cant wait for them to grow out, and to get more haha. Get the tunze osmolator universal (the one with the optical eye). Thing is an absolute beast. So freakishly accurate and reliable. Many safety backups as well. Comes with a pump. So worth the little extra dough.

How far does it push water? Cuz I have no room in my stand, so I want to put a 30 gallon brute about 18-24 feet away in another room.

Stock pump definitely doesn't go that far, but can easily switch it out. It's designed to be pump interchangeable. The optical eye/controller alone is worth the price.

Yea, the 3155. I just double checked though and although you can use any pump, you have to buy a switch socket outlet converter (for 68.99 from tunze). It may be possible to DIY that but I'm not sure. I was under the impression that you just plugged in another pump.....my bad.

Now your talking 260 plus the new pump, kinda steep haha. I do think it's the best though.

This about sums it up:

https://youtu.be/j5jlChFHUiU

What others have you been looking at? Ive heard the elos and avast marine ones are good as well. Not sure about pumps though. Basically anyone that doesn't only rely on float switches is the way to go.

Btw, how on earth do you lose 3-4 gallons a day from evaporation? My 7 gallon ATO reservoir lasts a week easy, and my tanks 10g bigger!

Idk man I'm trying to figure it out too Haha it could be because I run a window AC like almost 24/7 so fresh air from outside is constantly being blown inside and my tank is like 4 feet from that window? Idk. I though it was that or maybe I lose more to heat inside my stand where I have my apex set up and controllers? Apex generates a lot of heat. Or it could be because I haven't hung my LEDs yet? I have them on a rectangular glass thing I cut for now till I hang them. It sits right at the rim so like 3-4 inches off the water. Could be that too. Or maybe I'm over oxygenating my tank? Idk I'm running out of ideas here lol it might not be exactly 3-4 gallons either though. Maybe like 1 or 2 gallons haha but my return chamber is pretty small so that's probably why.

Excellent build! I'll be following along. How come you chose to go with dry rock instead of just using live? Sorry if I missed it. I just love seeing what random stuff pops out of live!

Hey bud, thanks! I chose to go with dry rock because I didn't want to see any of the random stuff that pops out of live haha. I want as much control as possible as to what enters my tank. Don't get me wrong, all the good hitchhikers are awesome, but not worth the risk of bad IMO. My primary focus is coral and fish that I choose.

I had the same thinking. If I want surprises, I go diving

180 liter, sumpless reef, no skimmer for the moment.

Current Tank Info: Juwel VISION 180, currently only invertebrates, planning to have low bioload as I have no skimmer and no refugium for the moment.

FTS (not very exciting as nothing is mounted, I have zero coralline, and there is an acclimation drip tube hanging in the tank haha. I just posted it for size reference of the frags in the tank. They are all low for light acclimation right now and will certainly be moving):

Ultra (so beautiful, all the colors of the rainbow but you can't see it on my phone)

Hulk (deflated but still looking healthy)

Beautiful! Don't worry man coraline will come. Just add Kents purple tech every day and you'll be on your way to have coraline.

Isn't that just essentially two part and trace minerals? You only need good params, a spore of coralline, and patience Only had a little on some frags added within the last month so hoping in the next few it'll be rockin.

Yeah, sometimes people want it to come on more quickly. With my rock so covered in other stuff it's hard to tell where or even if there is any coralline on it lol. Isn't it fun? Lol

Hey I'm just trying to help a brother out haha
Purple tech Is pretty much adding trace elements only difference is purple tech actually has the coraline spores in it already. It has the green calcareous that regulates and stimulates the coraline algae.
That's how I got my 10 gallon covered in coraline algae. I used those rocks and threw them in my 40. To Jumpstart my system.
Just helping guys lol my coraline came in like 2 months lol

Purple tech or any coralline "boosting" products does nothing but add calcium alk and magnesium (maybe other trace). It doesn't get you coralline faster than maintaining those levels any other way, in fact it's cheaper to maintain those things with regular water changes and 2 part dosing.

Haha, I'm just tired of diatomaceous algae and bleached white dry rock. Need that purple yo. I keep my params stable so only a matter of time. Then I'll probably hate it's again due to all the alk and Ca it consumes.

I appreciate it but my params are stable without it. Ive only had coralline in my tank since last week so it would be a miracle if i had more at this point. Purple tech does not have spores of coralline in it. Where did you hear that?

It doesn't have green calcareous algae in it haha (according to my research). Not sure it would survive in there even if it did.......

It says it stimulates the growth of coralline and green calcareous algae, but I didnt see anything about containing it.
