Ya I tried posting a thread about my setup but it has not gone up yet. I have a 29 gallon tank that i will set up. or there is a used 38 gallon tank that is very cheap at my LFS. so i may pick that up just to get a little more water volume. I will start it without a sump and I will add a sump later on.... Im in college and only have one year left so im not sure if ill add the sump or just upgrade to a larger tank after my graduation...I have been into highly planted freshwater tank so i have some left over stuff. I have a fixture that can hold 3 24" HO T-5's (if i get the 38 ill add another two bulbs 36") I have a few powerheads that i can put in there, heaters and i also have an extra canister filter that i may take all the media out and put in a few chunks of liverock. but im not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Thats the basic idea...for now.

Whats up? New to the hobby but haven't stopped reading and researching the past 3 weeks, NONSTOP. Damn, there is alot of variables in this hobby. I'm probably gonna go with a 150G or bigger FOWLR setup. i'm still debating on what kinda circulation/filtration setup would be best for this, ideas?? Possible fish I'd like to house are Lionfish, Pufferfish, Eel, FO Wrasse, etc.. I plan on building as much of the equipment as i can except for the tank, mainly because i dont have the working room for it.

Hello everyone my name is Kris. I am new to the salt water world and so far have found it very addicting! I have a 16g tank with 2 clown fish and around 8lbs of live rock. I have a marineland filter(25-30g) and a bubble wand for circulation(it was recommended by the Reef Plus store owner) I look forward to expanding my tank and learning more

the setup is great but if I may suggest a little more flow. Flow rate should be anywhere between 20 and 40 times your tank vol in gph

If you can give some more details as to the problems with you fish and your tank conditions we will try to help you here.
I would suggest you re-edit your post(you have 1 hr to do so) and remove your personal email. You have a private email on here to avoid possible problems you might have giving out your personal one to 220,000 reefers and who knows how many lurkers. Of course you don't have to worry about the 222000 registered members

You can list what city you are in--that would help with hooking you up to a local reef club forum on here.

My Tank
bubble wands have little application in reef tanks--they are more a fresh water thing and in most case for looks. People seem to like the wall of bubbles
In your case you get little flow from them
I would suggest you buy a Koralia nano power head which would be adequate for your 16 gal

New to Salt Water

Hi All,

I'm Raudel and I'm new to Salt Water aquariums. I have a 259 Gallon Tank to set up and are anxious to get it all started. I'm currently getting a stand built 3 feet tall which should provide enough room for a sump and any filtration/pums/equipment that will be needed.

I know I'm going to need a lot of HELP to get started. I'm looking forward to all the help you EXPERTS can provide.

It's good to be here, and thank you all in advance!

See you all at the forum threads.

Raudel

It should answer a lot of your questions, and if you have specific questions be sure to ask them in the "New to the Hobby" forum.

Newbie to Saltwater

Hi guys/gals,

I have been doing freshwater planted/aquascapes for about a year and a half now.

I just picked-up a beautiful 750 gallon salt tank-(FOWLR). I am VERY excited to get going on this and am sure I will have LOTS of questions as this will be my first salt exposure. Wish me luck!

Tim in Glendale, AZ

Oh Yeah...Also looking to join a local club here in the Phoenix az area.
