Zoanthid & Palythoa Photographs/Tanks/Videos

How about a place to collectively share some of your greatest Zoanthid and Palythoa photos. There's no need to worry about having a great camera, just share what you can along with some details of how well they grow for you, the little things you do to keep them happy and any pertinent details that will help someone else achieve the same success that you have attained. A picture along with a story or background will make this a very interesting thread I think.

i picked these up for a dollar! they where under the sand bad in a tank at one of my LFS and i spoted one of the polyp pocking out form the sand and talked the owner of the LFS agreed to sale for the cost of a bag as he put it.

these have grown quite well and have the lest amount of problems with. got them in a frag pak and have done well from the start. only had a couple polyps but as you can see there are many now.

here is a picture when i got them and before i fraged half and gave them away to someone at a local meeting.

This started as a 5 polyp frag a couple months ago. It now has around 20 polyps. This frag has just exploded with growth over the last month.

Any stories to add to those pics guys? What type of lights, additives, calc, feeding, type of system, fuge, current, etc, anything ? Lets make this picture thread a bit different by adding some text about your tank and what you do to produce what's in the photographs. Thanks a bunch.

I happen to like a little bluer light on my zoanthids, so I use a 250 watt 14k Hamilton ( PFO HQI ballast)with a 55 watt pc actinic.
Seems to bring out the colors.
I currently am not using any additives or feed very much.
Just do regular water changes.
I do have alot of flow in my zoanthid tank.
I have a Korilla 4, a modded Tunze 6025 and a modded maxi-jet 1200 and I use a mag 7 for a return pump from the sump.

These are some of my most favorite zoanthids around. They are very common but have one of the most beutidul color patterns that POP in actinics. I feed my tank cyclopeeze, flake foods and Rods Food every two days or more... They are very hard any do great under my T5 lighting. Flow consists of 2 Maxi Jet 1200's, 2 Tunze 6045's and four returns powered by a modded Sequence Dart.
Pic was taken with a Canon A620 Powershot

Here is my nice colony. It came from a 250w MH tank, and i've had it about two weeks under 18w of PCs. Little bit of a change, but there appears to be no fading yet. Wish me luck!
