If those are the ones at Bill's, they are Kuda (but no-one will tell you that from the pic-too dark).

I'm from St Thomas - was in Bill's today and picked up two of the small guys (a male and a female) for myself - you can start to tell the males from females in there now, look for smooth skin under the belly region which indicates a male.

Were you planning on getting the large ones or the juveniles?

For the juveniles, people will disagree, but a nanocube will be OK for a while (atleast 6 months)

Ideally, if you are planning on a long term home right from the start then I would say a 29 tall is the way to go for 4 maximum.

Mark

PM me or contact me on Bill's board (mark0933) for any other Q's

There are both large and small ones mixed in that tank - you likely only saw the small ones. Is the tank up and going yet? If not it will need to cycle. A 20 would work fine. If you want I can house them for you (or ask Bill to hold them)

What other salt experience do you have? Horses are not really the best for "beginners" - they need feeding every day.

If you ever want to come and see my set-up, let me know.

Yup, I've seen plenty of pics of horses in smaller than 10g tanks too...

... and sooner or later they ran into serious health problems!!!

I think a 40g tank is a great size for 4 horses. There would even be room for tankmates like a pair of jawfish.

I guess a 29 would work OK though.

I do not think your horse will last long in a 10g.

I think your mom is right. At 15, you shoul dgo work in a LFS. Think of the extra money and the discounts, then you coul dhave some cool tanks.

Shawn. See if you can hook up with someone from the London aquarium society. There is always someone in a club with spare tanks hanging around that they are willing to part with.
