Revolutionary Waves

So I was thinking about something like this the other day.

a horizontale wave versus a fan propellor type wave maker, and i guess someone beat me to the pnch i developing it LOL

http://www.marinedepot.com/Maxspect_...FIPHAD-vi.html

I just ordered my first vortech pump and i see this.

Anyone know anything about these?

it looks like a marineland bio wheel inside the water lol

really?

i never even seen this thing til today LOL

i don't like the search function either for 2 reasons.

1 - I usually reply and open ancient threads without realizing it.
2 - What if there was new information than was archived?

I'm still waiting for the piece of technology that will generate a natural looking wave within my tank. Chaotic flow? No problem. Gyre flow? No problem. Laminar flow? No problem. Natural wave? No can do! Our tanks are simply too small, and the waves that propagate too quick.

And anyone who says they have it must link to a video showing it; otherwise I don't believe it!

well instead of moving the water, why not moving the tank back and forth LOL

You could go old school dyi and do a ...... borneman surge device. Full wave crashing on the cheap.

i have been planning that.

using my return to fill a 24inch x 6" diameter PVC tube capped bottom and top with a siphon tube, and emergency drain in case. it will peak over my tanks 18" heaigh 6 inches. thats about 2.90 gallons for surge...

i'm calculating a wave every 1.5 minutes?

i could make the tube thinner like 3 or 4 inch diameter and get a wave every 45 seconds...

and be around 1 1/2 gallons wave surger

my concern is salt creep...
