Used skimmer break in

Hi recently i just got an IM ghost skimmer from a reefer. When i started the skimmer there was a massive mirco bubble went back to the main tank. Just curious that i thought only new skimmer needed to break in, used and clean skimmer needed to break in as well?

A cleaned skimmer can certainly require some break in time to build up a slime coat,etc... on it..
Of course some skimmers always have an issue with microbubbles.. That is what they do after all.. Some can/will escape..

I've never used that skimmer so I can't comment on if that might be somewhat normal for that one..
