Red Sea Reefer 170 Build

Woohoo! After months of waiting, my new tank is FINALLY here. I originally wanted the black but the white was all they got in, and it's actually really growing on me.

So far I've got a VorTech MP-10w, Eheim return pump, Tunze ATO, Reef Octopus Classic 110-SSS, Cobalt Neo-Therm heater, and a Mainland pro-series light.
-150W phoenix 14k
-4x T5 (ATI Blue+ x 2, ATI True Actinic, ATI Lagoon Blue)
-2 x LED moonlights

Filling it up!

Installed an under counter light in the sump area and *tried* to organize the cords...

It's about 34 gallons in the display, 43 gallons total. 24x20x20.

It is very nice what you have going on there, have you thought about suspending the lights? If it is possible of course.

Thanks guys! I have a few fish and corals being held in QT from my old tank that will be going in there (blotched anthias, sunburst anthias, possum wrasse, bangaii cardinal, etc.). I stock heavy on fish but that huge skimmer should help. Will be a mixed reef, mostly SPS with some showpiece LPS and Rics.

Got the aquascape mostly done, might move a rock or two still. I also painted the paneling strip on the fixture to match the stand. Looking pretty slick.

I am debating the 170 or the 250. Are you happy with the 170 or should I go bigger? What type of light are you running? I am planning to have maxima clams and stony corals. BTW...that tank looks great!

One last question, is there room for more equipment in the sump in addition to the skimmer?

Ha that's far from a couple. Hey can I ask what other sets up you looked at before deciding on this one?

Here's an update for you guys. Yesterday I added a helfrichi firefish, an azure damsel, another vivid fancy clown, a blue digi, and an orange sponge. All is doing well! Really love this tank.

hey bud great looking tank and dont mean to pry but u sure you giving this tank enough time to cycle/ seems u just filled it a few weeks ago and you already have a full bio load. I actually thought it was an established reef tank when i first glanced.. or did u already have cycled rock and sand?

I actually have a beyond full bio load...but good equipment and husbandry are working in my favor. 90% of what you see came from my previous (established) tank.

I should be picking up my reefer 170 today, very excited. I noticed you swapped out most of what came with the kit. Did you have previous experience or knowledge of any of the supplied equipment? By the way your setup has really set the bar pretty high, great job.

What did you think I swapped out? I used 99% of what came with the tank...
