Can Varios-4 or -6 Be Used Vertically?

I'm wondering whether Varios pumps can be used vertically, with inlet facing up. My Sicce ADV pumps can be used this way, and this orientation would solve a tricky plumbing situation for me.

I don't see why not as long as it doesn't form a vortex.

feedback from Coral Vue was they didn't see reason not to. Might hum (or might not) depending on how the plumbing is set up. I can deal with that, just wanted to make sure nothing about the construction of the pump that would contraindicate running vertically.

Closed loop is set up and running nicely. Just a whisper of noise even on full speed. Very pleased indeed!

If that were mine I would find a way to support it.
I use Clic Clamps when needed. They are threaded in the rear and you can use threaded rod if need be to extend from the wall or beam.

Even though the center of mass of the pump is closer to the wall than the vinyl tubing, the lengths of vinyl tubing leading back to the returns in the bottom of tank actually help support the weight of the pump. Returns are all rigid connections.
