What's this on live rock
Hi all Hoping u can help me have tank running for about 24 months Put dry rock in when starting tank Now see these prickly things on the rocks not sure what it is or should I be concerned? They look like the remnants of either Vermetid snails or Spionid worms. If they're dead then it's nothing to worry about, but a bunch of live ones in a tank could become a problem. They are known to irritate some of the things they come into contact with.

Some of those look kinda like sponges to me, but they wouldn't be 'breaking' if thats the case.

Yep, vermetid snail tubes. Careful, they can cause a puncture wound that gets infected if you're not careful when in the tank around them.
