Durso pipe
Does anyone know if you can put a durso pipe in the HOB overflow box? I am looking to make the overflow silent before I set it up. Looked at several options to include putting zip ties down the overflow pipe to the sump, the bean animal method, etc. Just trying to figure out my best options. thinking about 3/4 pipe or tubing to sump and 1/2 for return. Will be using a rio 2100 for the return pump.

I actually just put a Durso Pipe in my Life Reef HOB Overflow. I used 1 inch PVC pipe. It was a snug fit but it works pretty well and makes much less noise then before.

great. Just to make sure I have it correct. I would need a 1" durso setup, 1" slip bulkhead, then 1" piping or tubing to my sump. sound correct?

Saw this today. Has anyone tried this? seems more compact for HOB boxes.

Ok, seems like I have lost people's interest in the topic, but I still am in need of help. This is my progress. I am now starting to think about doing a full syphon with ball valve to control the flow and durso in the HOB overflow with J tube. I have a rio 2100 as my return which should pump 375 gph at 4 feet of head (692 gph at 0 head). any thoughts? the video below is where I got the idea from.
