It was filmed from the transparent fin of the squid on a light table with a little overhead fluorescent illumination. The camera was a Canon T2i with a reverse mounted 50 mm lens.
The animals had been sacrificed over a day before being sent to us on ice but the chromatophore muscle cells were still physiologically active. |
