i wanna everyones opinion and their list of the 10 ten nano tank fish....lets see what every1 comes up with!

Tank raised Ocellaris clown. I kept one for 8 years.

There's a lot of ties for second place, but there all a distant second place.

Tank raised Ocellaris clowns are the number one nano reef fish imo too. I've had one pair almost seven years and another pair for five years in ten gallon tanks. They're resiliant, interesting and do well in a smaller tank.

They also attack my hand and bite me whenever it's in the tank, but that's my fault for putting my hand in their tank.

Red Striped Goby
Rainfordi Goby
Yellow Watchman Goby

Depends on the size of the tank.

Though not totally reef safe, ANY exotic puffer wins hands down.

JMO though.

ie:

or any Basslet, Damsel, Goby, Jawfish from Divers Den.

Anglers are very cool, but a totally different kind of "fish". It does very little swimming, from the videos I've seen on DFS.

It more/less "perches and prays" something swims in front of it. I've seen them a few times stalk prey as well.

Lionfish > anglers, IMO

If I had to have one aggressive fish, it either be an exotic looking trigger, exotic puffer or dwarf lionfish.

Yellow Coris Wrasse -- Purchased as LPS recommended to help with keeping my snail reproduction down and ok for my tank which may not be the case (>55g)

I'd say the yellow clown goby, green clown goby, citron goby, purple firefish, red firefish and tank raised occellaris would all be at the top of my list for the perfect nano fish.

Tank raised Ocellaris Clowns,mine eat out of my hand.I have always kept Clowns, had a pair in my 75gal Reef for 2 years.Tore down the 75 to make room for the new addition to the family.

They are one of the, if not the most aggressive fish for a nano. I have seen them setup in lots of nano's, and not once were they peaceful critters.

My "damsel" is completely submissive and loves to swim with/amongst my clowns. He thinks he's part of the "pair". It's quite funny actually.

You would think... that any fish would, since you are the missing link between them and the food.

Just giving ya a hard time. My clowns will get real close to my hand. I stick my hand in the water to feed pellets, which I submerge in my hand, and slowly let a few pellets go, instead of just dropping a "pinch" into the tank.

Yeah,they finally got up enough courage one day when I was feeding them some Mysis, to come up and just help themselves.Their lazy and fat and dont want to chase them down I guess.

I would too, if I let the powerhead blow it in front of my face. lol

By using your hand(s) your becoming a little more intimate with the fish, by making them come to you, very close at times.

I think feeding by hand is the most effective way to establish a relationship with your fish. Once they know your the hand that feeds them, they will often feed from a turkey baster in the same fashion, limiting all the "uneaten" food in the tank.

all my fish in my 75 eat from my hand including my yellow tang. all my demsels. my watchman goby, shrimp and even emerald crab. you just gota let them get confterable with you. when i put my hand in my tank to fix something or to pick something up my yellow tang will swim laps around my hand some time he/she will perch in my cuped hand. my cleaner shrimp will jump on my hand and clean it and will climb my arm as im cleaning the tank. i love all my fish.

My clowns eat out of my hand and off the end of hemostats (cute and frustrating at the same time) I use the hemostats to feed my acans and duncans. When there is mysis on the end the fat ol' clowns come a runnin' and grab the food. So I have to spend 20 minutes feeding them individual pieces of mysis before they will leave me alone. hahah. Never had a fish liek that before.

Tangs and shrimp are notorious for clinging to their owners hands.

yeah in my old tank my yellow tank came up 2 my hand and let me feed it, i even touched em a couple times lol....

You have no idea how cool it would be if there was a 6-8" fully grown shark. I would build a tank for it ASAP!

Most sharks are kept in super tanks, like 300-500g+ I think. I've never seen one/some in anything smaller than a 300. And I think the owner was upgrading to a 750 due to the growth in the sharks.

i would love 2 have a blacktip reef shark tank but the cost would be outragous...so ill stick with my nano, and my TOMATO clowns!! lol they are such a**holes
