K1 kalk stirrer question
Hi
I have a K1 kalk stirrer... The issue I have is that I cannot get the output of the stirrer to match the output of my peristaltic pump. The peristaltic pump on its own delivers roughly one drop per second (~400ml/hr), which is great, but when putting this as RODI into the stirrer, the water level in the stirrer keeps rising until it surges down the hose into the sump putting about 10mins of dosing at once. Is there a solution for this? I've tried making the hole on the elbow larger. Currently using 8/12mm tubing on the barb fitting. Want the kalk added consistently... Thanks! The hole in the elbow is a siphon break, what you are experiencing is surface tension. If you can remove the tubing from the output of the stirrer it will help. If you absolutely need the tube section then orienting it so the bend goes slightly upwards will help. Usually the surface tension break is about 1/2 fl oz so this is a very slow addition to the tank.
