can it be?
about six months ago I added a coral banded shrimp to my 120 gal. reef. never any problems except for it lunging at fish that comes too close. I had two black and white clowns since day one (about two years). yesterday I noticed one of them is missing. I do have a cover and I looked to make sure it didn't somehow jump. the clowns usually sleep in the back at night and the shrimp roams around. is it possible that the shrimp got it? both clowns were healthy and eating normally. I have 150 lbs. of live rock so I guess it's somewhere in there. coral is all over so I can't remove any of the rock. what's the best way to catch the shrimp?

More of a cleaner shrimp than a predator in my experience. I would look elsewhere.

No way the shrimp killed a healthy clown fish. Nope.

List all tank occupants, but I wouldn't exonerate the coral banded. I'm not sure shrimps really ever sleep. Fish do.

It's pretty difficult for a shrimp to kill a fish, these ones don't move too quickly.

never mind. I had a feeling it wasn't the shrimp so I checked again. the fish somehow jumped out the back and must have flopped around until it went under the stand. don't know how it got out. maybe when I was cleaning the glass. bummer.
