Calcium levels
My Calcium levels over 500 per Salifert testing, all other parameters are stable, should I worry about this or should I complete an unscheduled water change? Will high calcium have any effects on inverts or SPS/Softies (I havent seen any changes yet)
Thanks |

Just let nature run it's course, it'll come down on its own. You should figure out how it got that high if you haven't already..

Over 500 is a pretty broad statement. Is the level 550 or 750 ???? Both are over 500. If your levels is not to bad say 550 then I would just let it drop on its own. On the other hand if it is really up there I might consider some water changes.

I wouldn't think you'd see any issues, at least over a fairly short term. You can try using a second syringe of the titrant reagent to see how much calcium you have. Just add the two syringe readings together.

You could do the half test aswell you will get more tests out of it.I wouldn't worry about the high calciuThe tank will consume the calcium it will take a bit of time but it will happen.
