Calcium Reactor question

My buddy has been hurting for money so he i bought some of his extra equipment. I got a calcium reactor from him, a C02 tank and a pump. My question is that its not like all the reactor i've been seeing. The inlet and outlet is both at the bottom instead of top and bottom. One tube goes in the bottom and stops and the other goes in the bottom and elbows all the way to the top of the reactor inside the chamber and then "T's" a couple inches from the top. Is this the inlet then??? Also, what is the flow through rate suppose to be??? It is 6 in round by 24 in tall with a base of 12 1/2 x 12 in. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks. He didn't have any directions for it and i'm new to calcium reactors.
