RO-DI pressure

After setting up my ro-di unit I adjusted the pressure regulator on the water line of my house so the ro-di's pressure gauge reads 50lbs. I noticed today while looking at it, it was reading 80lbs. while it is running it reads 50lbs. is this ok? Or should I lower the pressure?
