Any 8 footers out there?
Hello All - I was interested in seeing some of the members 8 foot tanks. I am thinking of purchasing an 8 ft tank with a 55 g sump for my office. I would like to get an idea of some of the systems that people are using to accommodate proper filtration, lighting, and flow.
I am currently gathering equipment and livestock. I have a 29, 50, and about to set up a 75. It will be at least three months until I can start my build. Probably going to have a custom stand and I am investigating a hp led lighting system. I want SPS so I will settle for traditional lighting is I have to. What are your thoughts on reef/foam/rock walls? Is it overkill? I don't like the look of coralline on the back of the glass. What would be the best protein skimmer? I am also looking for powerhead ideas. I would like heavy flow. Thanks |

Lightsluvr...that is an amazing build. Love the work on the T5s. I read the recap. I'm going to read the whole thread once I get a moment. What is the best feature on the Apex Controller?
Thanks |

I like the ability to control my system by iPhone or internet from anywhere I travel... Great support from Neptune. Very user friendly after the initial set-up. LL

Lightsluvr - I will make sure I stop by and say hello. I too own an Iphone and I love apps...so I am going to give the Apex controller a serious look.
Oldude - I have followed your build for a long time. One of the best that I have seen. One of the reasons that I am shooting for a 8 footer. How do you keep the back of the glass so clean? How often do you have to scrub? Thanks |
