How to set up my sump...???
I have a 55 gal tank that I changed over from a freshwater to a saltwater. It is about 8 months old, and I have had algae problems. I kept the over the edge hanging filter because the people at the saltwater tank store told me it would work... but I don't think it is!
I have the right amount of live rock, and the right amount of live sand... I have a clean up crew of peppermint shrimp, emerald crabs, and turbo snails. I have also added pajama bottom cardinals. A few soft corals as well, such as mushrooms and feather duster. I want to change the filtration out to a sump. I purchased this sump here: ttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036S1FQG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 Along with a pump and a tube return. What I don't understand is, how is the water suppose to be pumped out of the tank to go into the sump?? I am totally new to this, and have been dependent on the advice from the saltwater store (Which is 60 miles away). Please, I need help. How do I hook this up and get it working? Thanks! |

You need a downflow box. Some are installed with a drilled tank. Some are hang on back [hob.] http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/deluxe...overflows.html
