Acrylic Background Color Recommendation
Hey Guys,
I am ordering a new acrylic tank and was presented with the obvious question of "what color background, blue or black?". I've had a acrylic tank in the past with a blue background and I was happy with it for the most part, but I also hear from others that black has it's advantages as well (appears less dirty, ect...) I am thinking of trying black this time. What's your opinion and why? Thanks in advance!! |
I had a glass tank that had a black background.. i couldnt stand it.. out came the razor blade and off came the paint.. it made the tank toooooooooooooo dark in my opinion and it was just a fowlr tank.. ofcourse since it was just a fowlr tank i did not run high powered lights.

Black, I think the corals stand out better against black than blue. Blue (unless it is a very dark blue) looks less natural to me than black.

Some like black, some like blue, your choice is what matters. Hope the pic helps (FOWLR with minimal PC lighting) http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...nk12132009.jpg |
