Adding More Rock
I have a 180 gallon that has been running for months and about 180lbs of rock well cycled. Its been in my tanks for years. I have just added about 100 lbs of perfectly dried out rock, it was sitting out for a month or so. Should I be concerned about a cycle occuring? I have not seen anything yet and its been 4 days, all tests seem ok. I wanted to put my fish back in, should I be ok to go forward?

So its been 4 days since you added the dry rock and you've not seen any spike in Ammonia? I'd say you are likley good to go. But if you are not in a hurry I'd add a dinner shrimp for 24 hours let it break down a little bit and see if you get an ammonia spike of any size. If not you are certainly ready.
Also, depending on how many fish you have its probably not a good idea to add them all at once. increasing the bioload too fast can easily casue more waste than your fishless sytem is currently used to and cause a large ammonia spike. |

It really depends on how much dead organics where in the 100 lbs of dry rock. If there was a lot you may experience a small spike.
