Dry rock adding BIOPTIM Microbacter7 to start it?
I am newbie and I have a 75 gallon with dry rock from bulkreefsupply. I have the rock in, sand in, water in. Now I will be adding cheato and a bit of sand from another tank. Wondering if I should use Prodibio BIOPTIM or MB7 to help kick off the rock?

No, your best bet is to get yourself a chunk of live rock to seed the dry rock. Even as small an amount as 10 pounds will get your cycle going.

I agree with getting some live rock to seed things. However, what you are suggesting is essentially, the zeovit cycling method. Instead of providing nutrients in order to establish beneficial bacterial colonies, you just spike in w/the bacterial colonies. I just set up a 180 used this approach because I like to try new things, and it worked fine.

Here you go. I don't know what your long term plans are w/your tank, but these systems do require some tinkering. Also, while I am generalizing, they are perhaps more suitable to SPS systems. GL.
