Coralife Timers

Does anyone know if I can program my Antics to come on first and then my daylights or do I need to buy another timer?

Which timer do you have? I have the power center dual day night timer and I can program the actinics to for any time I want regardless of the setting for the daylights.

What's the model name? You probably can go to their website for information on it.

Terrible timers...I had the dual and single digital and they both were horrid. My moon lights and actincs couldn't be on at the same time and half the time the dang things didn't turn on. Maybe a bad batch, but get some brinks or marineland timers.

I don't really like anything coralife makes, including their powerstrips/timers. I have had and still use many of their products, but they seem break or not function correctly. I've had them for a long time so maybe its just the old models or just me.

I had bad luck with my coralife timer as well...

Either my lights came on and stayed on all night or they didnt come on at all...

I now use intermatic digital spa timers, much easier to work with and they actually work!

go to HD and buy the basic timer 2-pack for $8. this will give you 2 cheap timing channels AND they last forever because they are so darn simple.

You know, it just dawned on me....
Over history, most anything with "Coralife" on it was garbage.
their old 20KK bulbs sucked, flours were useless, salt, additives all meh
digital thermometers/timers = more of a liability than a help.

I agree, I had a single digital Coralife and it fried, maybe due to humidity...then I went for the dual, it just can't handle what you really want ie. moonlights stay on all night, when actinics are off...so it is now used for the wavemaking feature which is kinda neat...But I don't recommend it for lighting periods, its just too limited for a a reef schedule...go with the HD cheapo ones, but just be sure to adjust them every few weeks b/c they tend to lag in time and within a month...your lights goes on a minute later each day...but for 8$ not exactly getting a Rolex...

I am on the sixth! coral life timer(why am I stubborn--I invested 1100in the coral life attinics, halides and moonrays system.
I am convinced that there is a problem with this system--the supplier is still reluctant to change the system--there must be a magic number of light changes when Coral Life will act)
HD timers are a great option rather then coral life timers--that's what I will be changing to after I get this situation resolved.

To answer your question specifically - if you have the model with two timers - one on each side - then you can schedule your actinics and day-lights seperately.

If I were you, I'd take that 30 bucks that you spent on the coralife timer and go to a casino and try to turn it into 300 and buy a controller! Better control over your products, and better support!

I bought one of those timers, ran it for about 2 days, went to flip the switch that turned off the constant power outlets and......POOF! no power to any outlets anymore, must have blown an internal fuse, which I had no desire to investigate. So I did like I suggested to you!
