You need to test your water. Once all the water parameters look good, then your ready.
Your Amonia,Nitrate,Nitrite should be at zero. Make sure your salinity,ph,calcium, magnesium, alk is in the correct range as well before adding corals. What are the details of your setup? |

If you do all weekly water changes, have proper flow , enough LR and your skimmer. Dont use tap water. Readings stay stable not jumping up and down alot. Then they say atleast 1 year or longer for mature tank. At 2 months if reading are where they should be i would add my cleanup crew .Atleast 50% then wait a week add fish or coral beginner on either. Then every week or so add new stock. Spread out as much as possible adding the least aggresive fish first. Just enjoy and take your time and the rewards will be well worth it.

Soft corals are pretty tough. If the ammonia has been zero for a while, they'll probably be fine, although I'd also do a series of water changes and run some carbon. Nitrite and nitrate do not harm soft corals.

I have a good thread you can read that gives some real good information about a seasoned and aged tank. If nothing else it's a good read and will educate you a lot.
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...hreadid=249112 This should answer most of your questions. Regards, Pat

Really, all beginning and seasoned aquarists should read this series. I acquired a wealth of information and highly recommend taking the time to read all three. |
