Live rock hitchiker?
Okay, I posted something about this thing before, but now i actually got a chance to take a photo of it. I didn't have my macro or my tubes with me since I left it in the newsroom for this studio thing, so I just took a photo and cropped it.... soooo sorry about the low quality on that.
Anyways, this thing is a few millimeters big, and it scoots around the rock like a slug. To me it looks like some kind of star with only 2 legs, but i'm sure this isn't correct. Any ideas what this could be? harmful or helpful? secret treasure or reef destroyer? Thanks |

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like it could be a stomatella snail. Does it look like this?

i guess it kinda looks like that, but it would definately be in an immature form. It doesn't have developed eyes or anything that i can see thus far.

I would guess asterina star as well. They're usually off white and shaped like any other starfish, only they're usually missing a leg or two.
