Aquarium Weight Issue

OK I am just curious. I live in a building currently and the floors are concrete so my aquarium weight was never a issue. I have a lot of tanks and it never made a difference because it's all concrete. Now I may be over exagerating although I have heard of people putting in extra supports in there floor to hold a large tank. I am moving into a house this september and it's a brand new home built to building standards. My tank set up is a 150 gallon 6 foot tank. Can a floor support this tank or does something need to be done to support the floor??? or should a tank of this size be in the basement??? does anyone have a tank of this size on there main or second floor???? I am probably totally over exagerating although I am kinda paranoid.

shold not be a problem make sure that the tank sits across the floor beams that way it is evenly distributed

Your 150g tank is no worse than a waterbed.

The total weight of your tank is around 1500lb but that weigh is distributed evenly.

No worries at all.

a waterbead has 2-3 times surface area spreading weight out alot more and it depend what type of stand some stands have 4 legs that probably not be good put it near outside wall or where a load bearing wall is below the tank you will be good

I wouldn't presume to know about carpentry things but just something to think about - you said "it's a new home" - does this mean it's a pre-fab? If so your floors will not be as strong as some homes. Otherwise, speaking as someone who lives in a trailer (there are steel beams under my floors though) and has a water bed AND a tank I think you'll be fine.
