Plz help. How much sand do i need for a DSB.
75 gallon BF.
I have to get it immediately. I have a DSB in there already but Im moving tomorrow, and I have heard your not supposed to disturb the DSB or it releases all the toxins.

You need enough for a depth of 3" or more.

If I understand you question, you want to move a tank with a DSB. It would be best to drain the tank and remove everything else, if possible. If you have to remove it you'll probably have to recycle the tank if you use it again. You're right, a real, mature DSB should not be stirred up.

They also have a calculator here too, once you get the inches you want. Of course it is designed for rectangular tanks, but will be close.

Im thinkign about just getting a top layer (new live sand) and washing out the rest of the sand and keeping it.
