Just Starting

Hi Everyone.

I'm just beginning this fascinating hobby. I came across a 90 gallon Oceanic that I am currently trying to set up. Currently I'm in the process of cleaning all the equipment as I bought it used. With the used purchase came a 90 gal tank, stand, coralife aqualight pro, euro reef cs135 protein skimmer, and 40 gallon custom sump. I've just purchased a RO/DI from the filter guys, quiet one 4000 pump, rio seio m2600, 2 mj1200 and mod kits for both, and two jager 250w heaters.

I've got to run to home depot today to get some more supplies for the pluming. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and see what you guys thought of my set up so far or if you have any more suggestions/comments about the equipment I've purchased.

I'm sure I will be asking many questions as I'm new to saltwater and everything that goes along with it. Cheers.

Sounds good! Glad to hear you got a good quality skimmer, and you bought an ro/di. Those are the 2 biggest mistakes noobs make i think with equipment purchases. Make sure you put valves and unions on your plumbing

I got the coralife aqualight pro 48".

I'm unsure how much wattage to use for the heater. I just ordered 2x250w ebo jager's...is this enough/too much?

Also, what are my options for the sump. It's pretty large and I would like to someday use it to frag. I'm not sure if i should use live sand for that or something else? any recommendations? Thanks
