Calculating Flow - Adding it up??

When calculating the gph flow in my display, can I just add the different rates for the powerheads I have in the display.
For instance
2 x Hydor Koralia 4 = 1200+1200= 2400
Eheim 1260 return pump = 650
So my total is 2400 + 650= 3050

I know its simple math, but is this how it would work in my tank?
Thanks...

Yes, pretty much, although you'll need to take into account head loss on the return pump, if you haven't already.

Well i never used this. I bought good powerheads and used the duckbill tip and flow regulator valve to adjust. You want good flow for O2 exchange and algea reduction. Then my corals let me know if to much. They are the ones in there hehe.

But there are some varibles like rock placement , hieght of power head ect.. A good rule whene buying any equipment is to buy more then needed. Puts less stress on your equipment and does a better job.

Thanks.
Yeah, I took head loss into account. Doesn't have to travel very far.
Thanks again
