Unhappy Sad Day

I am not one to play the sympathy card but I am rather sad. I lost my little buddy yesterday, my Purple Tang after 11 years. He was like a puppy that lived in water, he was that tame and had that much personality.

One minute he was fine, within half an hour he was dead. Showed no signs of illness, injury or anything. His color was good and fins were up all the way to the end, I don't get it. Everyone else in the tank is fine.

I think he had a heart attack if that is possible.

Wow that's too bad, 11 years is a very long time to own a fish, it's O.K. to be sad it was part of the family. who knows what it could be that caused it maybe a vitamin deficiency? or a paracite? these things happen. I have a 9 year old gold bar that I love and hate but if she were gone the tank would not be the same, sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. My Sohal just died as well. I hate losing fish.

After 11 years, don't blame yourself. Maybe it was just "time" for him to go.

Thanks all and sorry to hear about any of your losses as well. Weird isn't, even though you can't really physically interact with them (he did eat our of my hand) you get attached.

The tank just isn't the same any more.

Man that just sucks! But 11 years shows that you honestly did everything to insure him a good life in captivity.

I think keeping any fish for 11 years is quite remarkable. Sorry for your loss though.

I'm sorry your purple tang died, mine is awesome, I can't imagine having one for 11 years and then suddenly losing him.
