dry base rock instead of live rock?

I would like to re do my aqua scape and I need some more rock.I have about 90 lbs of live rock in the tank now.Could I use dry base rock instead of live rock for the base of my structure? Is there any preparation steps I should take when doing this?
I figure the sand and existing rock will seed the new stuff any how.Would this keep the tank from going through another cycle?

just keep evrything in the tank, or keep the time out of the tank to a minimum. place base rock down and re-scape.
it may go through anothe small cycle though if you stir every thing up, and if organisms on the rocks die

FYI, You need to cure it like regular rock. before adding it to a display.
I love the stuff though.

Excellent way to stack a pile at a cheap price.
