Hermit shells for sale?

Hi all!

Ok, I want hermits and snails. I just like hermits and snails do what they do well.

With that being said, I've already had two hermits die to other hermits. One I think was out of hunger (I've been spot feeding since) and the other was for a shell.

I was wondering if I bought a bunch of empty shells of different sizes, but obviously some larger ones for them to grow into, if it would possibly reduce aggression between them and especially after I get snails assuming they are fed well?

Also, where should I get them? I know Indo Pacific Sea Farms sells them specifically, but you also have to spend quite a bit to really gain from ordering from them.

Maybe I should check eBay and with LFSs, but I thought I would ask here to see if anyone had any good sources and to see if it would even help.

Thanks!

Brandon

We have a shell store in town here... visit Morro Bay and you can really deck out your crabs. But in way of advice... check out craft stores too. They should have shells to work with. One thing you should know, these crabs are predisposed to use a certain type of shell, so you should do your best to match the type of shell that they currently have.

Ugh. If i had to spot feed my hermit crabs i'd shoot myself. They are more trouble then they are worth imo.

Anyway, i thought that adding extra shells would solve the problem of them killing each other and my snails. Unfortunately, it didn't.

I wish you the best of luck.

Well, by spot feed I mean after I feed the fish, I put in some flake food that sinks and the hermits eat it.

I'm gonna give it a shot... I like them... so we'll see. If they don't work, they don't work!
