I quit. Rio 12HF exploding. What to try now?

I go through Rio pumps like well, Rio pumps. I'm tired of replacing impellers and well, entire pumps.

What else is available? I know about Be quite, Ehimem and Mag Drive and I can't decide what to get. We have a 50 gallon reef tank and I have a couple of small power heads in the tank itself. We also use those Hydor spinners on the front of our overflow box and I love them.

I think the 12hf if rated about 630gph at 4 feet and I don't want to go any less then that.

Oh, the pump will need to be submerged.

My gut says go with Ehimem

Thanks in advance for any help

Eheim is a great pump. Pretty rare any one has a problem with them. I have some Eheim products over ten years old and still going strong

Ocean Runners are good pumps as well, maybe not as good as Eheim, but they are a nice bit cheaper. They are also a bit more energy efficient than Eheims, which is a good thing for a submerged pump.

Eheim, OR, even Mags are better than a Rio.
