fanworms growing everywhere!

I have hundreds of tiny fanworms starting to grow in my tank the largest one at around 5mm. I presume this is a good sign and i am thing that they maybe offspring from my featherduster. Does anyone else have any fanworms growing over everything including the glass powerheads and pumps, if so could i see some pictures. Thankyou.

I think they are talking about feather dusters

I have tons of small ones on the glass of my tank.
I remove them from the front, and sides however i leave them on the back wall of my tank for now.
How many are there? maybe around 200.

I'm not sure why you would want to eradicate these creatures from your tank... they are filter feeders, and in my opinion look awesome. I have a christmas tree rock with like 10 normal huge feather dusters growing on it... the more the merrier!!

I have a lot too, but I believe the cause is from excess nutrients. Clean your skimmer and cut down feedings a tad

I dont really feed much, and I am not trying to eradicate them.
I leave them on the back walls, i just dont want to have my veiwing areas screwed by these things.
That is all.

Which type of dusters did you start with that you feel may be breeding. I personally love the look of dusters, and wouldn't mind having a ton of them. Post pics and let me know how to do what you did!

I used to have millions of them.

This one was IN the polyp tissue.

You can see them in the background here.

In the Bryopsis.

In the background.

We used to joke that it was impossible for me to take a picture of any part of my tank and NOT get one in a shot.

A Copperband Butterfly will eat them. Not dosing too much Phytoplankton will help keep them from getting out of control. And you can pull them out manually in clusters and share them with others if you like.
