Question 250w HID BULB

I just had my HID bulb is a 250W - T5 - 20K.

I have a couple question:

1. - Should I put shield or not?

2.- Do I need more light or not?

3.- What kind of light should I put?

My tank is a 55 Gal. , 20 gal Wet/Dry, DIY uv light and soon a DIY skimmer.

This type of light have like a UV light.

Tks

Jose
