Coil Denitrator
I have been reading about a Coil Denitrator, and Im still not understanding how this item would help my tank. As the water flows through the CD and trickles back into the sump. Won't the water from the rest of the tank dilute what comes out of the CD for it to have any effect ? Does a CD really help a tank?
Thanks! |

Yes there is a dilution factor, that is the entire idea. We are diluting the bad water with the good water..
I would personally use a Remote Deep Sand Bed... it has a better capacity and it also converts the nitrates to nitrogen. Just do a search here for A.Calfos thread on "Remote Deep Sand Beds"

I have known people who used them on Fresh water tanks but always complained how much of a pain in the butt it was to keep dialed in.
