red/burgundy algae

hi

i have a 75 gallon tank that has been running for about 2 months in the last few weeks we started seeing alot of redish to burgundy colored algae growing on the live rocks and the glass how can i control this or is this normal in a newly set up tank?

Probably cyano which is a part of the maturing process. I am going through it right now Be sure that you are not causing the problem...Use RO, RO/DI for topoffs and changes. If you are not making the water yourself then be sure to test it. Make sure the flow is adequate 25x + turnover rate is a good starting point. Odds are it is just the maturing process.
