Sump Question

How do you terminate your drains into the sump? Right now I just have 2 1" pipes going into the bottom of the sump. Being underwater it is quite loud. If I cut them above the water level there will be alot of splashing noise. SO what do I do?

Thanks

Our 2 1 1/2" pipes drain into individual filter socks in the sump. Under/in water is much quieter than letting it splash into the sump.

I used flexible tubing (spa flex) from the bulkhead to the sump and angled the bottom of the spa flex so it doesn't run straight down. This eliminated the noise completely.

Definitely stay below the water line. Splashing is noisy and you'll get salt everywhere. I drain through regular PVC with a T-connector at the end into a 100-micron filter sock. No noise, no bubbles.
