Ozone Reactor Setup Question(s)
I bought a used reactor about a year ago and am just getting around to setting it up.
Two questions if you don't mind: 1) Mine has and inlet and outlet for water (which I understand) and an inlet and outlet for air at the top. I am a little confused by this - where does the "out" air go from the reactor? 2) Is there a certain pressure I should be watching for on the gauge? Sorry if those are dumb questions - but I couldn't find pics of a setup. Thanks for any help! |

It is a DIY model with bio-balls inside a pressure chamber that fills with water (3/4" hose barb inlet and outlet with toward the bottom of the chamber). At the top of the chamber, there is a pressure gauge. There are also 2 air inlets at the top of the chamber (or - I presume, one inlet and one outlet).

1) Air out to a carbon chamber is what most ozone generators recommend (water out thru carbon also). No idea how important it is to run the carbon.
2) Gauge for water or air? |

Thanks! But if the water flows out of the reactor, wouldn't excess air naturally flow with it? If so, maybe I can just cap off the second air valve and run the water into carbon?
It is a pressure gauge - I think it measures overall pressure inside the chamber, but I am not sure. Also, cjgalante - thanks for the post, but what PDF are you referring to? |
