circulation

ok i have a 40 gal tank with a 30 gal sump so i have a total system of 70gal how much circulation should i have. dose anyone know a good rule of thumb on this?? i was think, i have 1 maxijet 1200 that pushes 295 gph and two others that I cant recall right now however I wanted to buy 2 more maxijet 1200 to replace the one I have now for a total of 885gph divide that buy 70 (the total system) that a little over 12.5 so the that set-up will move the total system 12 and half time in one hour am i thinking about this right is this enough?
