Question Frozen cyclopeeze question

I'm getting sick of breaking off pieces every other day.

Can i just thaw out the big bar, pour it into a frozen food pack and then refreeze it?

Then i would just have to pop out the already measured cube.

Would thawing and refreezing cause any problem? Has anyone done this?

I would only let it unthaw enough to break off or cut off with a razor blade the amount you want for each serving. Then place portions tightly wrapped in saran. Place the portions in an airtight container and place in freezer. I think you will be fine. I wouldn't thaw completely.

Would just swishing the frozen bar in the tank water be easyer?

for cyclopeeze, i take the big frozen bar and cut it up into small chunks (based on how much i feed at a time). i then take the chunks and put them in a small sealed container. i use a mini jam container with a screw on lid but pretty much anything works. if it has no lid, use saranwrap. seal up the rest of the bar in saranwrap.

Not sure if good or bad, but I let mine thaw for about 5-10 minutes and then just used a knife to cut into little pieces that I can grab out anytime. I do that with a few frozen foods for my critters

I use the swishing in the tank water method. Just dip the tip of the bar into the water and move it back and forth until you've gotten enough into the water stream. It thaws only what you want to use, and then you throw the rest back in the freezer. There's really nothing simpler.

I swish as well and it works great. Sometimes there are a few ice crystals that hang on, but for the most part its great and easy. I keep the stick in a gallon ziploc freezer bag.

I use freeze dried and rehydrate it with my DT's and garlic extract.
