Water change

Are water changes benificial during a cycle?
I hav a 35 gal in later stages amonia and nitrite levels pretty low but nitrate of the wall.
I am running a remora skimmer and chep filter to dose carbon.

Water changes?
Let me know what you think....

I would let things go until ammonia and nitrites are zero, then begin doing water changes to take down the 'trates.

I would also wait until the NH3 and NO2 are 0.0 I did a 25% water change after the NH3 dropped and then a day or two later my NO2 dropped and NH3 started to peak again. What I did was actually flush the Nitrosomonas (Bacteria that processes the NH3 to NO2) out of the tank and depleated the colony.

Water changes will not prolong the cycle, that is a myth. Small water changes to keep the ammonia levels under control will help save some of the life on your rock etc. It's your choice, either way you tank will cycle just fine.
