Ballast placement for 120g

Hi,
Looking for some suggestions on placement of three electronic ballasts for my 120g. I was thinking the back of the stand, but that would mean the stand sticking out 4 or so inches from the wall. Would high in the back of the stand be okay or do they need to be outside fo the stand to avoid heat issue? I've got heat sinks for the two mh ballasts.

i just put mine in the stand.
